Every good finish starts with a clean surface. Our acid wash and degreasing service combines alkaline degreasing to strip oils and drawing compounds with acid pickling to remove scale, heat-treatment discolouration and light rust. It is the first stage of every plating job we run and is also available as a standalone service for parts headed to painting, phosphating, welding or assembly.
Why choose this finish
Removes contaminants that cause blistering, poor coverage and adhesion failures downstream.
Acid pickling clears heat-treatment scale and storage rust from machined and forged parts.
Book it on its own or as the built-in first stage of a plating order.
Suited to bulk fasteners as well as larger machined components.

How we process it
FAQ
No. Degreasing and acid wash are the first stages of our plating process. Parts can be sent as they come off machining or heat treatment.
Pickling parameters are controlled to remove scale and oxide without significant metal loss. Tell us about tight tolerances or high-tensile grades and we will adjust the process accordingly.
Yes. We offer degreasing and acid wash as a standalone service for parts going on to painting, phosphating, welding or clean assembly.
